Welcome to the Web site of freelance writer Nancy Pistorius. Nancy has won national awards for journalism and creative writing. She began writing a weekly travel column for the STATE JOURNAL-REGISTER (in Illinois) when she was 17, chronicling her adventures and experiences in Europe. Since then she has published in more than seventy different literary and mass-market publications, including WOMAN'S DAY, COSMOPOLITAN, ILLINOIS TIMES, the CHICAGO TRIBUNE, SOCIAL (Kansas City), the LAWRENCE JOURNAL-WORLD, TRAVELWORLD INTERNATIONAL, SEASONS, and SPRINGFIELD PARENT. She is a member of NATJA (North American Travel Journalists Association) and ITWA (International Travel Writers Alliance), and has attended Travel Media Showcase. Formerly the Wichita Getaways Examiner, Nancy is now the Kansas City Getaways Examiner. Her most recent honor was the 2009 Langston Hughes Creative Writing Award (Fiction).
